Mayo Arthroplasty Conference lands in Ireland

The Mayo Arthroplasty Conference is the largest joint replacement conference on the island of Ireland, beginning on the 15th April at the Knockranny House Hotel, Westport Co. Mayo.

The conference is an annual event and is now in its eighth year (qualifying for 15 CPD points). The faculty is composed of prominent orthopaedic surgeons from Ireland, mainland Europe and the United States.

There is an emphasis on covering new technological advances and current controversies in the fields of hip and knee replacement surgery.

This year the Mayo Arthroplasty Conference is co hosting the annual general meeting of the Irish American Orthopaedic Society ( ) who will be joining the academic meeting on Friday the 15th of April.

The IAOS lifetime achievement award will also be presented to Dr Peter Sharkey of the Rothman Institute in Philadelphia by his excellency Kevin O Malley, Ambassador of the United States to Ireland.
