Richard Whitehead is competing at the IPC Athletics European Championships!

Team Össur Athlete, Richard Whitehead will be competing in the Men’s T42 200m race on the 21st August in Swansea, this year’s home to the IPC Athletics European Championships.

Richard Whitehead, who last year ran from John O’Groats to Lands’ End as well as taking World Championship Gold over 200m (T42), claimed Paralympic Gold in the T42 200m in 2012, setting the World Record at 24.38s. He has also taken the T42 200m Gold medal at the last 3 IPC European Championships, so hopes are high for another outstanding performance in Swansea later this month.

The Championships will run from 18th - 23rd of August at the Swansea University International Sports Village. With around 560 athletes from 49 countries arriving it is the first time the games will have been hosted in Great Britain.
