Amit Chandraterya MBBS

MS (Orth), MCH (Orth), FRCS

Orthopaedic Consultant

Mr. Amit Chandratreya is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon and is listed in the GMC Specialist register. He qualified as a doctor in 1990 from Pune, India and underwent his specialist orthopaedic training; initially in Pune and Mumbai and successfully obtained the MS (Orth) and DNB (Orth) degrees. He then undertook further speciality training at the Queen's Medical Centre, Nottingham; completing his CCST in Trauma and Orthopaedics and obtaining the MCh(Orth) and FRCS(Orth)Glasg. He took up post in the Bro Morgannwg Trust in March 2006.

Mr. Chandratreya is experienced in all aspects of orthopaedics, with specialist interest in lower limb athroplasty, knee surgery and sports trauma.

He has completed 2 prestigious Clinical Fellowships in Nottingham and Bradford, with specific emphasis problems in the lower limb, specifically the knee. His interests cover the range of knee surgery including arthroscopic anterior and posterior cruciate ligament reconstruction for the unstable knee, meniscal surgery and reconstruction for the torn footballer’s cartilage, surgery for patello-femoral problems, articular cartilage repair and autologous chondrocyte transplantation for joint articular surface damage; through to osteotomy and joint replacement for the worn knee.

Amit is a member of the Cardiff Clinic team.
