Ossur - Life Without Limitation

Matthew Corner

“We noticed Matthew's head shape was not quite right from a very early age and, after going to the doctor, assumed it would rectify itself, as they said it would just grow out. Then we read a magazine article that told the story of a baby with plagiocephaly; something we had never heard of. We decided to make an appointment at the Leeds centre. Matthew was measured at 17mm plagiocephaly and 103% brachycephaly - both severe. Steve Mottram answered all our questions and queries and put our minds at rest about the treatment. The procedure for making the helmet was quick and pain free - a specially made scanner which took just seconds and caused no discomfort to Matthew. The 3D images of his head were amazing to see. These measurements were then used to custom-make his STARband, with the design of our choice. We found Steve very approachable and were reassured we could ring him if we had any worries or problems in between our reviews. We always felt that he had Matthew's best interests at heart.

“Matthew adapted very quickly to the STARband and his results have far exceeded our expectations. People who know Matthew and have seen him before and after cannot believe the difference this treatment has made in such a short space of time. Matthew was in the STARband helmet for just 14 weeks. I would urge any parent who is worried, or wants to help their baby, to make an appointment with the STARband centre for a consultation."

The technology used in the treatment is fantastic - the STARscanner was out of this world and we couldn’t believe the images we saw.
