Ollie Smith MBAPO
Prosthetist/OrthotistOllie graduated from Salford University with a BSc in Prosthetics and Orthotics in 2005 and the Limbless Association Award for Best Prosthetic Graduate. He is registered with the UK Health Professions Council (HPC) and is also a member of the British Association of Prosthetists and Orthotists.
He completed his placements in Cardiff and Oxford before working at the world renowned Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital as a Prosthetist. Since taking his new role with Össur in 2008, Ollie has been working closely with the prosthetic centres in the UK and Ireland fulfilling his role in Clinical support, training and education. With Össur continually being innovative in the prosthetic industry, he runs dedicated Össur Academy CPD courses for clinicians in their centres, ensuring they are fully capable of using and fitting new products from Össur.
Ollie has also been working alongside Richard Hirons and with the British Paralympic Cycling team for the development of a specialist cycling limb for double Paralympic champion Jody Cundy, and is also starting a Masters Degree at Strathclyde University with research into prosthetic feet and their use in sport, supporting research with the SPEEAD project.
Össur was delighted to welcome Ollie to the Clinical Services team in March 2008.
